Website measurement
When enabled, this website records aggregate page views and actions such as opening the first-note guide. Events use fixed page, action, and referral-category labels. They do not include account identifiers, recordings, notes, full referral URLs, cookies, or device fingerprints. This measurement honors browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Hosting services may process standard request logs to operate the site.
Measurement is stored as daily counters, not individual event histories. Counters older than the 30-day reporting window are removed when the next event is processed. Diagnostic test counts are kept separate from visitor reporting. Measurement does not track unique people or connect website activity to an Aplomo account.
Information we process
We process your Apple sign-in identifier, account profile, recordings, transcripts, notes, Box names and membership, voice labels and voiceprints when you enable Voice Library, chat questions and answers, subscription status, and limited service diagnostics needed to operate and secure Aplomo. We do not use your recordings or notes for advertising.
Voice Library and Boxes
Boxes collect notes that contain a recurring voice. You can use an anonymous voice label; no person's name is required. Matching the same voice across recordings still involves biometric voiceprint processing, so Voice Library stays off until you explicitly enable it. Removing a note from a Box or deleting a Box does not delete the note.
Voice Library is off until you explicitly enable it. When enabled, Aplomo sends relevant recording audio to pyannoteAIto separate speakers and create a reusable biometric voiceprint for a voice you choose to mark. Aplomo then uses that voiceprint to match the same voice in later notes and automatically group matching notes into the Boxes you created. Only enable matching for people whose voices you are authorized to process, and obtain any consent required before recording or voice matching. Voice matching can be wrong, and you can remove a note from a Box.
pyannoteAI processes audio and derived speaker data on our behalf. Its current published data-processing terms state that uploaded media is deleted within 48 hours, temporary worker copies after processing, and job outputs within 24 hours. Submitted voiceprint content is redacted within 96 hours, while usage counts are retained. Request payloads, configuration, submitted references, and job metadata may be retained indefinitely for service, billing, debugging, and support. Processing locations may vary with compute availability and service settings. Read the provider's current Terms of Use and data-processing terms. Aplomo stores the reusable voiceprint in encrypted form while Voice Library is enabled and does not use it for advertising.
You can turn off Voice Library in Manage Voices. This permanently deletes saved voiceprints and stops future recognition and automatic grouping. Your Boxes, notes, and original recordings remain until you delete them separately or delete your account.
Chrome extension
Aplomo for YouTube reads the title, channel, duration, public URL, and available captions of the YouTube video open in your active tab so it can show a synchronized transcript and optional translation. In the first public Chrome extension version, this information stays in the extension and is not sent to an Aplomo account or backend service. Optional translation runs through Chrome’s on-device translation capability when available; Chrome may download a browser-managed language pack for the selected language pair.
The extension stores display preferences and limited caption-loading diagnostics in Chrome extension storage. It does not read YouTube cookies, browser history outside YouTube, form data, or pages on other sites. We do not sell extension data or use it for advertising. The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Why we process it
We use this information to authenticate your account, preserve and sync your content, transcribe recordings, generate notes, answer questions, restore purchases, prevent abuse, and provide support. When you enable Voice Library, we also use voiceprints to match recurring voices and organize notes into Boxes. This does not tell you who a person is.
Service providers and locations
Account data, recordings, notes, and application services are hosted on Google Cloud in Singapore. Speech recognition is provided by Deepgram; requests from the United States are routed to North America and requests from Singapore are routed to Australia. Note and chat generation uses Google Vertex AI in Singapore. Provider training opt-out controls are enabled where supported. Global-version content is not automatically sent to mainland-China service providers. Voice separation and recognition is provided by pyannoteAI; processing location can vary with service availability and provider configuration.
Recording consent
You are responsible for obtaining any consent required before recording or matching another person's voice. Do not record or match voices where doing so is prohibited.
Retention and deletion
Your content remains available while your account is active unless you delete an individual note. You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud content, including Boxes, voice labels, and saved voiceprints, in Aplomo under Account and Data. Operational backups may take a limited time to expire.
Your choices
You may review or delete notes in the app, revoke microphone access in iOS Settings, turn off Voice Library and delete saved voiceprints, manage your Apple subscription, or delete your account. Contact liaoyalei@gmail.com for privacy questions.
